This Week In St. Louis: Mar. 18 - 24, 2019

MON. MAR. 18

@ CBGB | 9pm | $5-$7 | 21+
-Le Crabe (France)
-A Ten Year Winter (France)
-Sloopy McCoy
-Throbject

Even without the allure of two acts from France playing a dive bar on south grand, this is a stacked show that should be packed. Both Le Crabe and A Ten Year Winter are French hip-hop artists who take an experimental approach - but that's where the similarities stop. With Sloopy on deck (with the first of two shows for her this week), this is an expansive night of sound with little boundaries.

WED. MAR. 20

@ Foam | 8pm | $10 | all ages
-Lavender Country (WA)

St. Louis has been blessed as a second home for the resurgence of Lavender Country, one of the first known openly gay artists in country music. Led by Patrick Haggerty, Lavender Country returns to town with a backing band that features many of our city's most prolific players. Joss Barton, who has performed with Haggerty and company in the past, also hosts a talent show to benefit trans people of color.

FRI. MAR. 22

@ El Lenador | 9pm | $7 | 21+
-Nectar (IL)
-Him Morrison (MS)
-Trauma Harness
-Sloopy McCoy

From the bedroom to the basement, Champaign, Illinois native Kamila Glowacki started with a four track and quickly grew to a full band with a backlog of releases to dig through. It's unapologetic pop punk with a lot of heart that's hard to top. St. Louis' own Trauma Harness returns to kick off a busy spring for the band, who spent much of the last year laying off live shows.

These are just some highlights. See the side bar for more!
