This Week In St. Louis: Dec. 17 - 23, 2018

MON. DEC. 17

@ Foam | 8:30pm
-Paddlefish (Chicago, IL)
-Fragile Farm

Although the show has two bands with "fish" in them, the music here is stripped-down gimmick-free indie with sidewinding songs. The local lineup is fresh-faced too, with Kids having started in 2018 and Fragile Farm recently expanding to a full band lineup -- a solid starter to a week long pre-game of the impending holidays.

THU. DEC. 20

@ Atomic Cowboy | 9pm | $10 | 21+
-Container (RI)
-John Wiese+Ghost Ice duo
-DJ Crim Dolla Cray

Atomic Cowboy might seem like an odd fit for Container's post-industrial dance music. but between the Providence, Rhode Island producer, a rare 18andCounting-led trio, Chicago composer John Wiese and the DJ on hand, the extra oomph of the house system will be used to full effect. Any excuse to move your body in the winter time, right? Container provides more than enough reasons with years of records (all anonymously named "LP") and performances.

FRI. DEC. 21

@ CBGB | 9pm
NARAL & Gateway Women's Access Fund benefit:
-Newt Patrol

This benefit show is a change of pace with three punk acts who all tear through short sets -- but the real draw here are the charities. This three band power run goes down in support of NARAL & Gateway Women's Access Fund, and the Facebook event for this show straight-up says "Celebrate the holidays and FUND ABORTION!"

These are just some highlights. See the side bar for more!
