THU. DEC. 13
@ El Lenador | 9pm
-Thin Lips (Philadelphia, PA)
Thin Lips' pop-sensible punk is relentlessly upbeat, driven by taut bass moving smoothly below loose-fitting riffs. Melodic, full-bodied vocals throw a glossy sheen over everything, making for an energetic and endlessly positive set of songs. With members of Foxing in tow, Smidley makes a rare appearance in its own hometown.
FRI. DEC. 14
@ Foam | 8:30pm
-Heaven Honey (Bloomington, IN)
Heaven Honey's jangly indie-pop is well worth the price of admission all on its own, but the local lineup will be just as much, if not more, of a draw. Nibiru has its first show with a drum machine taking place of a flesh and blood drummer. Camp Counselor has dabbled with a backing band in the past, but this will be their first night with a bass player to round out this lush approach to bedroom pop.
SAT. DEC. 15
@ Livery Company | 6pm
-The Donald Woodhard, Inc.
-Nick J Gusman
What doubles as a birthday show of sorts for local sound person and promoter Ryne Schleicher, Stagfest II digs into the deep well of St. Louis music to offer a lineup that's dynamic and diverse. From recent New Jersey-transplant Fond Han to 18andCounting (who's fresh off one of the best parties of the year), this event opts to end 2018 with a wild night all to benefit the ACLU.
These are just some highlights. See the side bar for more!
