This Week In St. Louis: Jul. 2 - 8, 2018

@ RKDE | 9pm | $7-$10
-Big Bite (WA)
-Supercrush (WA)
-Blacksage (NY)
-The Rememberables (DC)
-Sweaters Together (TN)

What was once multiple shows scattered across town has been combined into a single, inclusive night with bands from all over the country. All of the locals agreed to drop off so this could happen -- so consider it a mini-fest and a show of unity in support of music from beyond St. Louis.

@ Art House | 3pm
-Treasure Shields Redmond
-Drew Gowran
-Basmin Nadra
-Jaded Evil Lambs

In addition to avant garde sets by the likes of Drew Gowran, Squidge and many more, several speakers -- including Joss Barton -- will be on hand to help paint a very different picture of America than you'll see on mainstream TV. No stars and stripes -- only freak flags will be waved here.

@ RKDE | 9pm | $7
-The Zeta (Venezuela/Florida)
-DeeDee Catpiss & the FuzzCoffins (MS)

After playing St. Louis just this past April, the perpetually on-tour Zeta returns on DeeDee Catpiss in tow (who are also 2 months removed from their last show in town). Apparently they all love this city, and if the local lineup is any indication, the feeling is mutual. Post-punk revelers Waterproof open up alongside south city's newest outfit, Kids.

@ RKDE | 9pm | $8
-Puzzlehead (Vancouver, BC)
-Hotline TNT (MN)
-Jane Wave
-Trauma Harness

Big rock and roll vibes come from up north with Puzzlehead commanding a metallic guitar tone over solid, mid-tempo burners. Minneapolis' Hotline TNT serves up its own brand of infectiously catchy 90s-inspired rock.

@ Vintage Vinyl | 3pm | free | all ages
-Pineapple RnR
-Trauma Harness

A "Lumpy Recs" daytime showcase in the heart of University City. Both bands have new EPs out on the label -- the Trauma Harness one has a cover of a Japanese Dragon Ball Z credits song, no joke. Expect the Blobby Boys to come riding by on the Loop Trolley.

These are just some highlights. See the side bar for more!
