New Music Circle presents:

-Hamid Drake (Chicago, IL)

The first New Music Circle event of 2017 offers world-renowned percussionist Hamid Drake, whose body of work features collaborations with Peter Brotzmann, Pharaoh Sanders, William Parker and Michael Zerang among many more. On this night, he performs alongside violinist Iva Bittova, who accompanies strings with vocal work that reminisces East European music.

Benefit for Latinos en Axión:

This anti-inauguration show offers a mix of St. Louis bands in benefit of Latinos en Axión. The organization's mission statement: "We are a grassroots organization created by and for Latino Immigrants and their families. We seek to promote individual transformation as well as build engagement in our work for social and economic justice."

@ Beatnik Bob's | 8pm | all ages

Remember Cranky Yellow? The spirit of the now-defunct storefront and venue on Cherokee Street has moved into the City Museum via Beatnik Bob's. Zak M will bring his baritone voice backed up by busy fingerstyle guitar to the freshly decorated space for a longform solo performance.
