Chromozone has been a great basement venue for south city in recent years, but tonight will be its official (unofficial) swan song. Jerusalem & The Starbaskets is the perfect closing band to a space that celebrated psychedelic rock and punk. The Funs was a staple at Chromozone, so its fitting that they'll be present for the closing, too. Considering the artists who live or have lived at the house, it wouldn't be out of the question to expect a surprise performance to pop up, but that's just an assumption. Either way, make it out for the close of a great asset to the music community. Sorry the address is hidden - ask around if you're not familiar with the spot.

Tomorrow: February 27

UNDERCURRENT 2 featuring:
The Funs
CaveofswordS
Dusty Fingers
MUCK Trio
(Ben Osbourne of Times Beach, Lumpy & the Dumpers/Joseph Hess of Spelling Bee/Dave Stone)
Tim Rakel (spoken word)
Chris Ward (spoken word)
@ Schlafly Tap Room / 2100 Locust Street
8:30 pm / free / all attendees receive free tape / all ages

Undercurrent 2 features the trashy reverb-ridden rock of The Funs (that's two nights in a row!) with a one-night only expanded line-up from CaveofswordS. Dusty Fingers features Devin Hill of Nos Bos making creepy ambient work and MUCK Trio features myself, Dave Stone and Ben Osbourne (known for his work in Times Beach, Lumpy & The Dumpers, Totally Gay Cop, Overdoser and more).

Undercurrent is part of a monthly concert series brought to you by Wrong Division, Schlafly Tap Room, Paradoxal Pterodactyl Podcast and Chizmo.TV. Each month features a free cassette tape release filled with live performances from the previous month's show. Each tape is put together mixtape-style by the Paradoxal Peterodactyl Podcast crew with cover art by a different area artist each month. The shows merge experimental and punk with spoken word and performance art. Come out for installment #2 on Thursday, February 27. In the meantime, check out these photos from last month's show by Theo R. Welling.
